Unbridled Abundance

Stackhouse is the home to many species of Western Pennsylvania flora and fauna -- plants and animals.

White-tailed deer, wild turkey, racoon, black bear, rabbits, squirrel, grouse, song birds, birds of prey and other species fill the forest.

Oak, maple, dogwood, redbud, birch, evergreens and other tree species make up the lush overstory that provide shade, food sources for the wildlife and offer spectacular views year round.

Flora, such as mushrooms, honeysuckle, jack in the pulpet, moss, ferns and others plants cover the ground and, like the trees, provide the abundant wildlife with food and add beauty to the park.

Stackhouse's rich variety of flora and fauna provide visitors with an in-depth look and overview of the incredible natural beauty and abundant wildlife that make up the Laurel Highlands Region.
